The alarm system of OYS was inadequate at the starting point. Customers couldn’t reach nurses well enough, and staff safety also required updating in systems. The solutions resulting from the cooperation have benefited both the employees and customers.
– Now each employee has a personal safety button for making an alarm when necessary. The system also displays the location of the alarm automatically to security guards, explains nurse Jarmo Lohela from OYS Emergency Department.
Furthermore, each patient bed now has an alarm button and the number of displays in the corridors has been tripled. Calling for nurses and getting help is therefore easier and quicker.
