Frequently asked questions – Nurse Call Lite

How does the solution work?

  • The patient can call for a nurse by pressing a button on the call device. The nurse receives, reserves and resets nurse call alarms with the 9Solutions Smooth Lite mobile application on a smartphone. The nurse can also use the phone to open a voice connection to the patient’s voice connection device.
  • The solution is based on wireless Bluetooth technology and cloud service. The patient’s call device communicates wirelessly through Bluetooth with the voice connection device, which in turn is connected to the cloud service through a mobile data network. All alarms are forwarded to the 9Solutions Smooth Lite mobile application on the nurse’s smartphone.

What is the range of the call device?

  • The range of the patient’s call device to the voice connection device is up to 25 metres in open space. A nurse call alarm is forwarded to a nurse’s phone through any voice connection device within range. The voice connection device itself is connected to the cloud service through an internal mobile connection.

    What is the delivery time of the implementation?

    • With express delivery, it’s possible to deliver the solution to the Customer within 5 days from the order. The delivery method is always agreed with the Customer. Depending on the inventory situation, the maximum delivery time is 30 days. However, we try to deliver the products to the Customer as soon as possible.

      What are the dispatching costs of the devices?

      • The dispatching cost is 30€ for each further 50 devices (1-50 pcs 30€, 51-100 pcs 60€, etc.)
      • Extra dispatching costs for a potentially required express delivery (courier) are charged according to actual costs and the charge is calculated case by case.

        Are there any other costs for the service apart from 598€ x number of beds + dispatching costs?

        • There are no additional costs for the 6-month service apart from 598€ x number of beds + dispatching costs.
        • If the Customer wants to continue using the solution after 6 months, there is a monthly support and maintenance fee 31.80 €/month/set.

          Is the service paid as a single payment or monthly installment?

          • The 6-month service is paid as a single payment.

          What happens after the service has been used for 6 months?

          • The seller who has delivered the solution will contact you before the 6-month contract period ends.
            • The Customer can continue using the service in 1 or 12 month increments.
            • If the Customer has an existing 9Solutions nurse call solution, the Customer can also integrate the devices to the existing nurse call system without the data subscriptions used in this service. This requires reinstalling the devices and a separate maintenance contract.
            • The Customer can also return the devices free of charge to 9Solutions Ltd. for appropriate recycling.

          Can the nurse’s Smooth Lite application be installed without a Play store account (Android). 

          • Yes. When necessary, 9Solutions can send the Customer an APK installation package of the application and the mobile device maintenance of the Customer organisation can install it to the devices on a centralised basis.
          • The application installed through the Play store always requires a Google account, which can be the same in all phones that the application is installed to.

          What are the operating systems where the application can be installed?

          • Android 6.0 – Android 9.x

          What are the phone models that the service can be used with?

          • We recommend the mobile phone models we have tested:
            • Samsung XCover 4
            • Samsung XCover 4s
            • Samsung A7
            • Samsung A20e
            • Samsung A40 
            • Samsung J5
          • If you are using other phones, the unconditional minimum requirements for the phone are 2 Gt RAM main memory, when the phone is used only for Smooth Lite, and Android 6.0 – 9.X system version. We don’t recommend Huawei and Honor models due to their power saving features.

          What kind of mobile phone subscription is required for phones using the Smooth Lite mobile application?

          • Receiving and processing nurse calls appropriately with the Smooth Lite mobile application requires a subscription with unlimited data usage.
          • Although the Smooth Lite application itself doesn’t use much data, other installed applications may use all of the potential data limit, and then also the Smooth Lite application will stop functioning.
